  • CORPORATE FUNDING, INC. was set up as a regional lessor specializing in IT, Manufacturing and Construction Industries
  • By 1982 CORPORATE FUNDING, INC. had grown to $200 Million in assets
  • Sold CORPORATE FUNDING, INC. in 1982 to The National Bank of Detroit (NBD)
  • Became a wholly owned subsidiary of NBD on January 3,1983
  • James Boike became President of the wholly owned bank subsidiary and stayed with the company until 1988
  • 1989 James Boike set-up his own private leasing company
  • 1990 Christopher Boike joined the firm
  • 1996 the firm reacquired the CORPORATE FUNDING, INC. name from NBD.

James P. Boike (Jim)

Bio / Credentials

Jim has over 45 years of leasing, corporate finance, management and marketing experience. He received his BBA in Accounting & Finance from Western Michigan University in 1963.

In 1977, along with two partners, he formed a leasing company  –  Corporate Funding, Inc. (CFI) in Grand Rapids, MI.  By 1982, CFI had grown to one of the largest privately held leasing companies in the State of Michigan.

In 1982, the partners elected to sell the company to a national bank and CFI became a wholly owned subsidiary of the bank. Jim stayed on with the company as President.  In 1989, Jim started his own private leasing company.

Jim has extensive knowledge in all aspects of lease structures as well as establishing captive lease programs for OEM or vendor programs.  His primary responsibilities are working with existing lease customers and arranging internal lease warehouse lines for Corporate Funding, Inc.

Jim is a member of the board of directors of a number of private corporations located in the State of Michigan.  He lives in the Grand Rapids area with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Jim has a passion for his family and grandchildren and enjoys traveling and recreational outdoor sports.

Christopher J. Boike (Chris)

Bio / Credentials

Chris has over 21 years of lending, corporate finance and marketing experience.  He received his BA in Marketing from Western Michigan University in 1989 with a minor in Business Management.

He joined the firm in 1990 as Vice President of Business Development.  His main focus was to cultivate business relationships with new and existing lease customers, establish and work with equipment vendors, referral sources, and arrange existing and new bank relationships.

In 1997, Chris became a partner in the firm.  Since then he has continued to develop leasing relationships with current and new customers.  He has also taken the lead role in developing captive leasing programs and arranging bank lease warehouse facilities.  He has also been involved in the arrangement of asset based and traditional bank financing for companies.

He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth for West Michigan as well as a member of ELFA.  He lives in the Grand Rapids Area with his wife and two children.  He enjoys recreational sports with his family, as well as hunting.
